Platform

Mac

OS version

Sonoma 14.6.1

App version

6.0.1

Current Behavior

I see that there is now an option to update SimpleX version in-app. I go through the steps and nothing happens. Restarting app doesn't help. I am having to download and install the .dmg from Github.

Expected Behavior

Update should be completed seamlessly in-app.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. I am greeted with a message that says "Update available: v6.0.2"
  2. Options: Download / Skip Version / Remind Later
  3. I click Download (download seemingly starts)
  4. New message: "App update is downloaded" w/ options: Install update / Open File Location / Cancel
  5. Clicking install update, it supposedly starts installing and then nothing happens.
  6. App remains current version (right now 6.0.1)
Relevant log output

Research direction

Start by reproducing the update flow on macOS Sonoma using the listed steps, then inspect the in-app updater entry point and its installation logs. Compare the Download and Install update stages with the manual .dmg path. Done means the app installs v6.0.2 from the in-app flow and restarts on the new version.
