further expansion upon this topic:
given some ephemeris sampled at some cadence, if a time window is queried, we want to also include the measurements just outside that range, so that interpolation is applicable to the entire desired time range
for instance for time range query defined as ------- and ephem cadence * * * , the situation

will fail when querying positions at the earliest and latest time because they're outside the ephem range
