Description

This could be done pretty easily with an electron app, we include fw lite web, electron starts that up and opens it in the electron browser. Everything else works like the Linux app today. This will include the robust build pipeline for Electron to build a Mac app, there's also auto update support. Lots of nice stuff out of the box. Sadly we don't want to use Tauri because on the Mac it would use Safari which we don't currently test or support and it would likely have issues.

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reviewing how the existing Linux app is built and launched, then define the Electron packaging path for Mac and Linux. Done means supported builds exist for both platforms and the planned auto-update support works.
