Android Split-Screen breaks message and chat viewing

Bug description

I was attempting to use the inbuilt split-screen to record a voice note while reading from my notes app, but I cannot use the chat functionality or see message history whatsoever while in split screen, the only thing that appears upon loading a chat is a blank grey screen - the "home page", where all the chats and settings are displayed seems fully functional however. This behaviour persists through full-screening the app using the central Android swipe-to-adjust proportions bar (I am unaware of the correct name) and requires a restart of the app before returning to normal - using the show windows button the the bottom right of the toolbar and swiping the app away, force-stopping the app is not necessary.

I am using a Motorola G84 5G on (to my knowledge, and the testimony of the Google Play Store App) the latest version of Android and the latest version Signal-Android released on the Google Play store.

The behaviour is consistent regardless of the app, app-source, location, orientation, etc. of the second app in split screen. I cannot accurately report on whether this is a new behaviour or longstanding, as I rarely if ever use the split-screen function.

First reproduce the blank chat and missing message history in Android split-screen on a moto g84 5G with Android 15 and Signal 8.21.6, then inspect the linked debug log. Done means chat viewing and message history continue working after entering, resizing, and leaving split-screen without restarting the app.
