Bug description

This probably started a few months ago. Even when I ignore the notification regarding a new update, I find multiple APKs for updates being downloaded to my phone. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop the application from fetching updates either. I'm using the F-Droid version, so I would rather update manually using F-Droid.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the update-download behavior on Android 9 with Signal 7.47.2, then trace the update notification and APK download flow. Done means ignored updates no longer leave downloaded APKs behind and users can continue updating manually through F-Droid.
