"The --image flag defaults to the installer image of the talosctl version in use, so it can be omitted when upgrading a machine without system extensions to the version matching talosctl."
and then:
"Q. Which version of talosctl should I use to update a cluster?
A. We recommend using the version that matches the current running version of the cluster."
Upgrading with the newer version (and less flags) looks like the easiest way to do it. Less flags, newer version ( fixed bugs? :) ) etc... But it's not recommended. It would be nice to have a small clarification in docs why is that...
