Research direction
Reproduce the Bike Summer page requests in the browser's network panel, then locate the calendar plugin code that constructs the two events.php queries. Normalize the calendar request so equivalent date ranges use the same cacheable query, and verify that the page no longer makes duplicate requests for the same data.
