Description

We need to move to a model where the JS engine is never in charge of deciding whether to report a pending exception or not. Instead, we need to have a stack-allocated type (AutoJSAPI) which understands when exceptions should be rethrown or reported, and explicitly invokes the correct error reporter with the stolen pending exception in the latter case.

Research direction

Start by locating the JavaScript engine's pending-exception handling and existing default error reporter, then read how Gecko's AutoJSAPI defines exception ownership. Done means a stack-allocated AutoJSAPI model controls whether pending exceptions are rethrown or reported and explicitly invokes the selected reporter with the stolen exception.
