Description
I am writing a software that collects lots of URLs from within manually written documents, and needs to find duplicates.
For that reason, I need URL normalization as it is described e.g. here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/URL_normalization#Normalizations_that_preserve_semantics
The question is, if it would make sense to include such functionality in this crate as a function/functions on Url.

Research direction
Start by reading the linked URL normalization reference and inspecting the crate's existing Url API. The issue does not name files or tests; the work would need an agreed scope and semantics for normalization, followed by an API design and verification of the chosen behavior.
