Description
Since the mute all state is sticky to the channel, where the mute participant state is sticky to the connected participant, there is confusion in circumstances where an unmuted participant leaves as the last person, thinking they've unmuted everyone.
Here's an example scenario where this is confusing:
- There exists a club where 10 people go to hang out, and one day a week they do Karaoke
- The moderator mutes all the but the singer for each person
- At the end everyone slowly trickles out while the mute all state on the channel is set, and unmute participant is set on all remaining people.
- Since everyone appears to be unmuted, unmute all is not pressed.
- Residents show up and are still muted because the mute all state is still set on the channel.
Suggestion: I think the best solution to this would be a UX change that would make the channel mute state more clear, so that people who are using "mute everyone" can be confident when the channel's mute everyone flag is clear.
Reproduction steps
- Mute everyone
- Unmute yourself/everyone else in the region
- Come back later, everyone is muted!
