Description
After installing SecondLife into a new folder on Windows, you'll see at least 1 UAC dialog. A new user may pause at that point and question if proceeding is safe.
For the last month I've been hitting Cancel on those and don't notice any impact on functionality.
Investigate if there is a specific voice scenario that requires this permission. See if we can only trigger the UAC only if the particular scenario is triggered.
Reproduction steps
- Install the viewer into a new folder (i.e. not into "SecondLifeViewer")
- Click Cancel on any UAC dialogs.
- Test voice functionality for the different modes; spatial, group, person to person, ad hoc.

Research direction
Start on Windows by reproducing installation in a new folder, then test voice in spatial, group, person-to-person, and ad hoc modes with the UAC prompts cancelled. Trace which voice scenario, if any, requires the permission. Done means the required scenario still works and UAC appears only when that scenario is triggered, or the investigation documents why it cannot be reduced.
