Description

This epic focuses on establishing consistent user experience (UX) across all Second Life clients - including streaming, mobile, desktop viewers, and third-party viewers should there be interest down stream. The objective is to provide seamless navigation, standardized interface patterns, and cross-client feature parity regardless of platform or device, ensuring users encounter a coherent and accessible Second Life experience everywhere.

Key focus areas:

  • Consistent visual and interaction patterns across web, mobile, and desktop viewers (including TPVs)
  • Unified onboarding and navigation workflows
  • Harmonized feature sets and terminology between platforms
  • Shared accessibility and usability standards
  • Streamlined cross-platform account management and transitions

KPIs

  • Cross-Platform Feature Parity: Number of major features with consistent behavior and presentation across mobile, web, and desktop clients
  • Consistency Satisfaction: Improvement in survey scores relating to UX consistency between clients
  • Onboarding Cohesion: Reduction in average onboarding time and task completion rates across all platforms
  • Bug/Feedback Metrics: Reduction in user-reported cross-client inconsistencies and UX confusion by 30% quarter-over-quarter

Risks

  • Existing Resident Disinterest: Residents often times like what they've got, so unification efforts should be minimally disruptive to existing residents.
