Image

This may only reproduce while a normal map is applied due to https://github.com/secondlife/viewer/issues/4350

Reproduction steps
  1. Rez a prim
  2. Click the Select Face radio button
  3. Apply a normal and a specular textures (Blank or default textures are fine)
  4. Remove and re-add the specular texture. May require repeating this step

Research direction

Start by reproducing the highlight issue in Second Life Project Gltf Mesh Import 7.1.14.15976006598 using the listed prim, normal-map, and specular-texture steps. Compare the behavior with issue #4350; done means removing and re-adding the specular texture no longer produces irregular object highlights.
