Description

Using the Atlasaurus build :

Second Life Release 7.1.9.9620320242 (64bit) on Apple M1 Max

(using as it contains a fix for the showstopper OpenGL buffer problem on Apple Silicon)

  • I have not noticed this behaviour before on the Release viewer, but textures are very slow to load from grey and many 'stick' completely without ever loading.

  • Go to a content rich region such as a Linden Homes region, for example somewhere in the area of near SSPPigadi

  • Getting random 'stuck' grey textures after a while, some of which eventually render after a number of minutes, but many never do. Some may be on my avatar, or nearby content if I've cammed away for a while.

  • Restarting may bring them back but grey out a whole new set after a time.

  • The effect may take some considerable time to kick in, but when it does it sticks around, and more and more textures become affected.

  • This issue has been heavily linked to PBR Firestorm on Mac, where I see the exact same phenomenon on a resident alt, but this is the same behaviour on our viewer.
