Description

Is there a way to test if particular genes of a single-cell-RNA-seq-dataset show bimodal distributions, in order to infer heterogeneity?
e.g. like in: https://www.nature.com/articles/nature13437

Research direction

Start by reviewing the bimodality-testing question and the linked Nature article. The issue names no Scanpy file, entry point, or test, and does not define whether the outcome should be an API, analysis workflow, or documentation; a completed change would need a clearly specified scope and validation criteria.
