Research direction

Start by reproducing the drag behavior in Firefox and Chrome, then trace the block-dragging cursor handling in the Scratch Blocks frontend. Compare it with the linked Blockly demo and verify that dragging a block shows a grabbing cursor while the issue's reproduction steps no longer show the default pointer.
