Generic Debris Textures

At the moment Generic Debris is forced to use textures defined for the species of a ship in species_defs.tbl, similar to Thrusters. There currently seems to be no way to use the texture assigned in the debris' pof file, unlike thrusters which can also be individually defined for each ship instead of being locked to its species type.
