[ AI ] Fighters (especially large ones) begin to collide with the player when "Form on my wing" command is issued

FSO Version: Multiple, observed in 24.2.0 and 24.0.2, may be present in other FSO versions.

(Please let me know if I need to test older versions so that pinpointing the issue becomes easier)

Many large fighters begin to collide with the player ship when the "form on my wing" command is issued. Issue observed across multiple mods too (Sync, Blue Planet)

The only temporary-yet-unreliable workaround would be to issue the "cover me" command rather.
