Description

I was thinking up a few gameplay scenarios where it would be beneficial to have untargetable objects show up on the radar, so that the player can always check their relative position to the object but not get all the information you would usually get by targeting an object.

To summarize the function I was thinking of:
An object with "this flag" set in the FRED's Ships Editor cannot be targeted as if stealth'ed, but appears on the radar by using its radar icon as set in ships.tbl/-shp.tbm. Also be exempt from being un-stealthed by TAG weapons.

I would like to request this as feature, please.

There three cases I have on my mind right now:

a) Scenery objects that are not suposed to be interactable like asteroids or derelicts (and so are invurable and possibly for status reasons set to an irrelevant hull percentage), which however could be of use as cover or where it is good to know where they are if you are using strafing or glide movement.

b) Scenery features that are represented by invisible objects like gas or radiation clouds, in which case you would use something other than a distance-from-centre measurement to inform the player of the effect (e.g. HUD gauge that acts as dosimeter, sound cue etc).

c) A dogfight scenario inside a container depot, during which the player is supposed to figure out which objects "don't react well to being shot" (because its is randomized and mechanically done with a class change).

(the "the radar is going to be cluttered"-problem can easy be solved by making the respective icons small, reminding the player that they can cycle the range of their radar, or simply using a low number of objects in the mission in general)
