Description

Currently we have PolyGauss_I0-50_Rg-60.h5 stored in our data. According to Judith this is simple to implement in code (avoiding the need to track and download a file), e.g., using SciPy. Judith will provide code for this.

Research direction

Start by locating where PolyGauss_I0-50_Rg-60.h5 is loaded or used in the ESS data-reduction code, then review the SciPy-based implementation Judith provides. Done means the calculation is performed in code and the tracked HDF5 file is no longer required, with existing behavior preserved.
