Description

EFU will decide the virtual resolution of histogram mode detectors, i.e. timepix, from the floating position of photons detected from the scintillator.
Our workflow should support arbitrary number of pixels.
It is not yet decided how exactly the virtual geometry is logged in the stream/saved in a file.

Research direction

Start by tracing the EFU histogram-mode detector workflow and how floating photon positions become virtual pixels. Clarify the virtual geometry representation and its logging in the stream or saved file before implementing support for arbitrary pixel counts; done means both workflows preserve the chosen resolution and geometry consistently.
