Description
Currently the normalization is done using a measurement on a supermirror.
The instrument scientists want to have the option to be able to normalize by the direct beam on the detector as well.
This is only expected to work for collimated measurements.

Research direction
Start by locating the existing normalization path that uses a supermirror measurement and trace how collimated measurements and direct-beam detector data are represented. Done means providing an option to normalize collimated measurements by the direct beam while retaining the existing supermirror normalization.
