Description
in sklearn we have a small script to check that we have the right number of wheels before starting the upload, see https://github.com/scikit-learn/scikit-learn/blob/main/build_tools/github/check_wheels.py. I think we should keep that.

Research direction
Start by reading the referenced scikit-learn build_tools/github/check_wheels.py script and locating where this repository begins its wheel upload. Confirm how the expected wheel count is determined, then ensure the check runs before uploading and prevents an upload when the count is wrong.
