Description

Within a lot of the docker projects there is a use for the same kind of bash functions.
For example the usermap_uijd_gid() function.

Suggestion: What if we look at the possibility to put all those general functions within its own project, that why it's easier to use by other projects as a git submodule.

Research direction

Start by locating the usermap_uijd_gid() function and identifying other general Bash functions shared across the Docker projects. Define the proposed standalone project and its Git submodule integration; done means the shared functions are available for reuse by the relevant projects.
