Description
Hi,
I have successfully migrated Gitlab to ver 9.4.4 and using Maria DB 10 on a Synology WS.
When I wanted to create a new project it gives an error in the web interface saying: "Failed to create repository via gitlab-shell". This has never happened to me before before migration.
What still works is committing code to projects that has already been created.
Is this an issue or did I do something incorrectly during the update?
Thanks for looking into the matter.

Research direction
No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing project creation after migrating to GitLab 9.4.4-0050 on Synology with MariaDB 10, then inspect the gitlab-shell repository-creation failure while confirming that commits to existing projects still work.
