Description
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is an LTS-like or stable version of gitlab.
I've been using gitlab (via @sameersbn's docker-gitlab) since I think 8.11.x
But the versioning has jumped up to 8.15.x (in such a short time).
In my use case we don't need fancy thing ASAP. We'd prefer a system that causes less errors.
Here are some of the errors I've experienced.
- When I create a new repo and add push files to it, the repo shows an empty repo in the webUI.
- Issue with the group permission
- CI Pipeline not completing (all individual builds had completed) link
- Duplicate keys being added (cause authorization issues) link
Now I was wondering if there would be a LTS like branch on the gitlab-ce repository that we could maintain as a LTS-like or Stable branch over here as well.
Frequent updates for vulnerability fixes are fine, but updates for new functionality that may introduce bugs are the kind of things that make me hesitant to upgrade.

Research direction
Review the docker-gitlab repository's versioning and release practices first, then consider the linked GitLab CE issues 23099 and 22946 for the stability concerns described. Done would require a defined, maintainable LTS-like or stable branch policy that separates vulnerability fixes from new functionality.
