Description

Howdy!

Croniter, a dependency used in the scheduling system, updated their readme to indicate that it is no longer maintained and may get pulled from pypi in March of this year:
https://pypi.org/project/croniter/

I'm creating this issue to bring it to y'all's attention since it was something I stumbled upon.

Start by reviewing croniter usage in salt/utils/schedule.py and the linked croniter and PyPI pages. Then inspect how this dependency is declared in the project and determine the supported replacement or mitigation. Done requires an agreed dependency path and validation of the scheduling system.
