📝 A Note on Alpha Software, Expectations, and Open Source Reality

## The Alpha Label Means Something

Claude Flow requires installation with `npx claude-flow@alpha`. That **@alpha** tag isn't decorative - it's a clear signal that this is actively being built, in public, in real-time.

## What Alpha Actually Means

**Alpha is not a label for broken. It's a signal of active development.**

- ✅ It means I'm building fast and sharing early
- ✅ It means features are evolving daily
- ✅ It means some parts are stubs waiting to be implemented
- ✅ It means you're watching the creative process unfold
- ❌ It does NOT mean it should be production-complete

## The Reality Check

Let me be clear about what Claude Flow is:

1. **One developer's project** - Not a startup, not a company, not a team competing with corporations worth billions
2. **One of hundreds of examples** I'm building and sharing freely
3. **6,000+ stars and hundreds of thousands of downloads** - Popular? Yes. Finished? No.
4. **Built in public** - Like giving a presentation with no clothes on

## Popularity ≠ Completeness

There seems to be an unrealistic expectation that because Claude Flow is popular, it should somehow be more polished. That's backwards logic. It's popular BECAUSE I share it early, iterate in public, and let people use it while it's being built.

## The Irony

The critics pointing out "flaws" are literally using Claude Flow to do so. Think about that for a moment.

I don't have to share my time, code, or ideas. I choose to. This is free software that I build in my spare time and give away. When someone says "it's unfinished" - yes, that's literally the point. It's alpha. I'm still building it.

If you want polished, production-ready software with guarantees and support, there are plenty of paid options out there. If you want to watch something being built, contribute to its growth, and use cutting-edge features as they emerge - welcome to Claude Flow.
