Description

Hi! I just realized that Zulip probably doesn't think I'm a project member despite everything checking out in this repo. I was trying to access a members-only channel that I don't seem to have access to and wasn't aware existed until now. I think there might be a bug in how membership is computed and/or how that is applied to Zulip. If you could look into that that would be great. Thanks!

Research direction

Start by tracing how project membership is computed and applied to Zulip, using the reported inability to access a members-only channel as the reproduction case. Done means the membership status is computed correctly and project members can access the intended members-only channel.
