Description

If I execute the | sh installer on my machine, it doesn't tell me how big the installation is before it just goes ahead with the install anyway.

As a computer owner, I want to be able to make an informed decision as to whether I install rustup or not based on the amount of disk space it will use.

Research direction

Start at the shell installer invoked through | sh and trace where installation begins. Determine how the required disk space can be calculated or reported before installation proceeds; done means the installer tells the user the space requirement before installing rustup.
