Description

I'm surprised no one has asked about this already, but I like to keep trailing spaces matching the expected indent level, as follows. Could we get an option for this please?

impl X {
    /// A function
    ///
    /// Some more text.
    fn f() {}

    fn g() {}
}

Research direction

The issue provides a Rust formatting example but names no files or tests. First locate rustfmt's configuration and whitespace-formatting tests, then specify how the option should handle the blank and doc-comment lines shown; done means the example output is produced without changing default behavior.
