Description
I am trying to setup rust-analyzer for the sole purpose of error detection, but it is expecting a cargo workspace for (I assume) completion and linting. How can I turn this off and only have code sanity checking?

Research direction
The issue only identifies rust-analyzer and Cargo workspaces; start by checking rust-analyzer's workspace-related configuration and documentation. Confirm whether error detection can run without a Cargo workspace, then document the supported setup or limitation.
