Description
The ability to insert breakpoints directly in code rather than from a debugger can be handy sometimes, and it would be a shame to lose this capability in stable Rust just because the breakpoint intrinsic is unstable.
Some suggestions:
- Stabilize the intrinsic itself
- Create a stable
#[inline(always)]wrapper functionstd::debug::breakpoint()

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by comparing its two proposed approaches—stabilizing the intrinsic or adding std::debug::breakpoint()—and determine which stable API the project should adopt. Done means a resolved design with an agreed stable way to insert breakpoints in Rust code.
