Description

Python’s subprocess module has a STDOUT constant that can be passed as the stderr for a command, indicating that stderr and stdout of the child should be the same stream. This is equivalent to some command 2>&1 in bash.

This functionality could be added to std::process::Stdio with a new fn stdout() -> Self constructor method that returns a value that can only be used with Command::stderr. (Using it with Command::stdout or Command::stdin would panic cause Command::spawn to return an error.)
