Description
There is no easy way to use the FileMode enum, as tree returns i32 (why not FileMode?)
and there's no conversion form i32 -> FileMode
I could create a PR, but I'm not sure if it'd be just for conversion, or make filemode return FileMode enum

Start by locating the FileMode enum and the tree API that currently returns i32, then inspect nearby conversion implementations and tests. Done means the intended FileMode-facing API and i32 conversion behavior are decided and covered by tests.
