Description
I am contributing OpenPGP signing for commits to gitui in https://github.com/extrawurst/gitui/pull/1544 and noticed that git handles tags in a different way.
Does someone have more information for me on how to achieve a signed tag with git2-rs?

Research direction
Start by reviewing the gitui pull request #1544 for the existing OpenPGP commit-signing work, then compare it with git2-rs and libgit2's tag-handling APIs. Done would require a clearly documented or implemented path for creating signed tags, but this issue does not identify files, tests, or a specific requested change.
