[feature req] Always show search inputbox

Description
Instead of a search button, can we always show the search inputbox, that once clicked, redirects to:
?search=
Its seems it would be easier and more intuitive to spot straight off the bat in a way?
I guess on mobile and other small screen devices, it should be a dedicated button(or stick it on top)
