Description
Some ui/ test scripts do not use set -euxo pipefail which means there is potential for silent failures if an unexpected error is encountered. We can add this to each bash script and implement logic to catch and report failures without interrupting the script.

Research direction
Inspect the bash test scripts under ui/ and compare their current error handling with the requested set -euxo pipefail behavior. Run the affected scripts to establish their current failure behavior, then verify that unexpected errors are reported rather than silently ignored while intended script flow remains intact.
