Description
We want to generalize the gc algorithm so we can easily configure the number of generations and the thesholds and intervals for each generation. The idea should be that you can configure it with a flag to kompile somehow.

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the garbage-collection algorithm in the C++ LLVM backend and determine how generations, thresholds, and intervals are currently represented. Done means agreeing on a configurable design and exposing it through a compilation flag.
