Description

A lot of work has recently been done to update the rucio.github.io website (thanks @0xquark !)

I think it would be good to formalize some instructions on how to do certain things that we expect to do often, e.g.:

  • adding an event banner to the home page
  • adding event photos (e.g. it seems you need to add both a thumbnail and an original https://github.com/rucio/rucio.github.io/pull/93/files, how do you generate the thumbnail?)
  • modifying team members (maybe some checklist to ensure that the description is moved to the past tense for members moved to past contributors)

Research direction

Start by reviewing the rucio.github.io changes in pull request 93, especially how event photos use a thumbnail and an original. Document the procedures for adding a home-page event banner, adding event photos including thumbnail generation, and updating team members and past contributors; done means these recurring website updates have clear instructions.
