Description
Problem
Clicking an image in the gallery navigates away from the current page, which risks losing in-progress edits.
Proposal
When an image in the gallery is clicked, open it in a new window/tab so the user doesn't lose their work.

Research direction
The issue does not name a file or test. Locate the gallery view and the link or click behavior for its images, then check how similar links are handled elsewhere. Done means clicking a gallery image opens it in a new window or tab while preserving the current page and its in-progress work.
