Description
During the update to version 0.18.0, syntax checker markdownlint now includes
uri as a dependency (rubygems' entry). An update of the version packaged
to Debian (tracker page) is not yet possible, in part because uri is not
yet part of the Debian ecosystem.
I would like to close this gap by provision of the package under the name of
ruby-uri. As part of attributing copyright, Debian's file d/copyright
includes the note of an upstream contact. As an illustration, ruby-mdl uses
Upstream-Contact: ["phil@ipom.com"]
though prefers the pattern to provide both a name and an email address (salsa,
Debian wiki about assigning copyright).
Because the uri project does not discern between contributors and maintainers,
I would like to ask who of you would like to wear this hat?
Best regards,
Norwid Behrnd

Research direction
Read the issue references about the Debian tracker, Salsa packaging, and copyright attribution. The request is for an upstream contact for Debian's ruby-uri package; done means a maintainer or contributor is identified and the contact information can be provided for the package metadata.
