Rake gives "NameError: undefined method `extend_object' for class `Singleton'" error for all rake commands

I was trying to use rake to automate some tasks which did not work, I tried calling the task manually, which gave me a list of warnings followed by an error, the error came on all rake commands, including rake -v

I could not find solution for this anywhere, my ruby version is 2.7.0

Start by reproducing the failure with rake -v and inspect the reported stack trace, especially Rakefile and config/application.rb. Check whether the error occurs in Rake or in the Rails, ActiveSupport, or Bootsnap dependencies shown in the trace. Done means identifying a reproducible Rake-related cause and a specific repository change or documented resolution.
