Description

Report from Martin J. Dürst

To make it a bit easier to move forward, I (thought I) created subtasks for https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/12529.

These are the subtasks:
https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/12549
https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/12550

I created them clicking on 'Add' right to "Subtasks" on https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/projects/ruby-trunk/issues/new?issue%5Bparent_issue_id%5D=12529.

But the additional issues I created are not listed as subtasks under
https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/12529, and don't list a parent issue.

If this feature doesn't work, I suggest removing the relevant part on the bug/feature pages. Otherwise, please fix it, or tell me what I did wrong.

First steps

  1. Read the whole issue, then the project's contributing guide.
  2. Comment on the issue to say you are picking it up — it saves two people doing the same work.
  3. Fork the repository and make your change on a branch.
  4. Open a pull request that references the issue number.

Research direction

Reproduce the report by using the “Add” control beside “Subtasks” on the new-issue page with parent_issue_id=12529. Compare issues 12549 and 12550 with issue 12529 to determine why the parent and subtask links are not shown; done means the created issues appear under the parent and identify that parent, or the broken controls are removed.
