Description

I'm using grape in conjunction with the octopus gem in order to connect to different databases. I'd like to use something similar to ActionController around_filter in the API class.

Currently there is no support for that, only before and after filters. I've cloned grape source code and tried to read some code but I'm not expert in rack stuff, so I don't know where to start to implement this feature.

Is it difficult to do? Any pointer on where to do that in the code?

Research direction

Start by examining Grape's existing before and after filter implementation in the API classes, then trace how Rack request handling reaches an endpoint. Determine the intended nesting and execution behavior for an around filter, including how it interacts with the existing filters. The work is done when the API supports the requested around-filter behavior and its behavior is covered by the relevant tests.
