Description

To add a new repository (e.g. a miniCRAN repository) to an existing packrat project you currently have to edit the packrat/packrat.lock file. It would be nice to have a function to make packrat aware of new repositories you want to install packages from.

Research direction

Start by inspecting packrat/packrat.lock and the existing repository configuration behavior described in the issue. Define how a function should add a repository to an existing packrat project without manual lock-file editing, then verify that the new repository is available for package installation.
