Description

Will need an update to handle the value within bslib and within py-shiny.

Proposal of input handling:

  • When multiple is true, set the input to "empty list"
    • R: character(0)

Research direction

The issue names bslib and py-shiny as the affected projects; start by tracing how multiple inputs are represented in each project. Compare the current empty-value behavior with the proposed R character(0) and Python () values, then verify that both integrations handle an empty selection consistently.
