Description

Review the code and feature list of joint_trajectory_controller from ROS1 and write up a comparison with the current version in ROS2, don't forget about testing either.

https://github.com/ros-controls/ros_controllers/tree/noetic-devel/joint_trajectory_controller
https://wiki.ros.org/joint_trajectory_controller

The ticket then should be extended with either a list of TODOs or a list of additional tickets to address the missing parts.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the ROS1 joint_trajectory_controller code at the linked noetic-devel path and its feature list on the ROS wiki, then compare those findings with the current ROS2 implementation and its tests. Done means documenting the differences and extending this issue with either concrete TODOs or separate tickets for missing features.
