Description
Currently only .png is supported, while SVG output for example is very useful for web-based visualisation. This can be done in latex_config.py by adding a new setting for output type.

Research direction
Start by reading latex_config.py and trace where the current PNG output type is selected. Add a configurable output type that supports SVG and other LaTeX outputs, then verify that existing PNG behavior remains intact and SVG output can be selected.
