Description

There is a memory leak when opening, with latest version of REST, a REST files made with version < 2.4.3 or <=2.4.2 (i am not sure). The memory leak is caused by opening the event tree with TRestDetectorHitsEvent events and just end up saturating the system memory.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the leak when opening REST files made with versions below 2.4.3, focusing on the event tree containing TRestDetectorHitsEvent events. Compare behavior with the latest REST version and verify that opening the event tree no longer saturates system memory.
